Azumo, Inc., a Chicago-based leader in reflective display and lightguide technologies, and Cymmetrik Group, a global provider of printing applications and value-added services, have announced an expanded strategic partnership that places Santa Teresa, New Mexico, at the center of their global operations.

Under this new agreement, Cymmetrik will serve as Azumo’s global contract manufacturing partner across the United States, Taiwan, and China. A key element of the deal is the integration of Azumo’s proprietary equipment and patented lightguide film technologies into Cymmetrik’s ISO-certified facilities, including a newly built clean room in Santa Teresa, New Mexico. This facility is designed to meet the highest automotive compliance standards (IATF 16949) and deliver industrial-scale manufacturing capacity.

Why It Matters for New Mexico

The investment in Santa Teresa strengthens the NMBorderplex’s position as a strategic location for advanced manufacturing. With its proximity to the U.S.–Mexico border, strong logistics network, and growing cluster of technology companies, the region is becoming an anchor for global firms looking to scale quickly while maintaining U.S.-based production.

Partnership Highlights

  • Local Manufacturing in Santa Teresa: Cymmetrik’s new clean room in New Mexico will produce high-volume, automotive-grade, and consumer-scale products for global distribution.

  • Expanding Applications: The collaboration will bring Azumo’s lightguide technology into next-generation automotive cockpits, smart surfaces, glazing applications, and low-power signage solutions.

  • Consumer Electronics Licensing: Cymmetrik will manufacture Azumo technology for tier-1 laptops, smartphones, tablets, and eReaders.

  • Strategic Investment: Cymmetrik has also made a direct investment in Azumo, further aligning the companies for long-term growth.

Industry Impact

“This partnership represents a pivotal moment for Azumo,” said Mike Casper, CEO of Azumo. “By combining our breakthrough optical technologies with Cymmetrik’s unmatched global manufacturing infrastructure—including new operations in Santa Teresa, New Mexico—we can rapidly scale to meet customer demand.”

Templer Wei, CEO of Cymmetrik, echoed that sentiment: “Partnering with Azumo allows us to leverage our expertise and global footprint while accelerating commercialization. Our expansion into the New Mexico Borderplex positions us to better serve customers in North America and beyond.”
