Las Cruces Mayor leads a ribbon-cutting ceremony announcing commercial flights at the Las Cruces International Airport. Levi Stockton, President of Advanced Air will be joined by Las cruces Council members, city administrators and Mayor Ken Miyagishima to introduce the event. Guests include members of the City’s Airport Advisory Board; New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Director Pedro Rael and Planner Marilu Melendez; members of the New Mexico State Senate and House of Representatives.

The Las Cruces City council reported that Hawthorne, California-based Advanced Airlines has agreed to provide flights to and from Las Cruces International Airport. The contract with Las Cruces will provide easy access to the Las Cruces Innovation and Industrial Park, Arrowhead Center, NMSU and the medical industries. The total budget project of $3,850,000. The budget also includes $1.75 million per year from the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s Rural Air Service Enhancement grant. In addition, the contract calls for the city of Las Cruces to contribute $175,000 per year for the two-year duration of the agreement.
